Petronas Solar PV

Petronas Solar PV launch

It’s such an honour for us to join the launching of PETRONAS’ First Solar Photovoltaic Installation at Suria KLCC. This is another significant step of green energy technology development in our country. Malaysian’s single largest rooftop solar PV installation on a shopping mall in Malaysia - Suria KLCC had started running since February, which is a joint initiative of PETRONAS and Mitsubishi Corporation.

our itinerary (Petronas Solar PV launching)
me reading~

The ceremony was proudly presented with the attendance of our Minister of Energy, Green Technology and Water, YB Dato’ Sri Peter Chin Fah Kui. Also with the PETRONAS Chief Operating Officer and Executive Vice President Downstream, YBhg Datuk Wan Zulkiflee Wan Ariffin; Group Chief Executive Officer of KLCC Holdings Sendirian Berhad and Chairman of Suria KLCC Sendirian Berhad, Encik Hashim Wahir and Senior Vice President of Mitsubishi Corporation, Mr Kazuyuki Mori.

Minister of Energy, Green Technology and Water,
YB Dato’ Sri Peter Chin Fah Kui

Through this collaboration program, Mitsubishi Corporation agreed to provide the funding needed to design and install the system along with its expertise in solar power technologies and infrastructure. The system’s solar panels have been installed in patterns that follow the Islamic architectural and the traditional songket motifs design elements that are common to the PETRONAS Twin Towers. It is clearly visible from the PETRONAS Twin Towers and the surrounding highrise buildings.

The system, which has a nominal output capacity of up to 685 kilowatts which had been installed on the 9,000 square metres roof-top can supply about 30% of Suria KLCC’s power requirements. The installation of the solar system which started in April 2011 had taken only nine months to complete. It was fully commissioned in February this year and is capable of producing more than 600 megawatt-hours of solar energy annually which is equivalent to powering up to 250 households or 7,700 fluorescent light bulbs for 12 hours daily. Amazing figure isn’t it? Just imagine how much more energy can be saved if all shopping malls in Malaysia were to follow suit. There’s no necessary to pay for electricity bill anymore haha.

Moreover, you will say wow for the contribution of this system to our mother earth. The clean energy generated from the system contributes to the greenhouse gas reduction by approximately 360,000 kilogramme carbon dioxide (CO2) per year and will reduce the shopping complex’s green house gas emission.

The six different types of solar technologies installed at a single location in the country have the potential to harness the most energy from the sun. The system provides vital data and information of its applications and performance in Malaysia’s hot and humid weather conditions, which would be useful for future initiatives. It consists of six PV modules, each based on a different type of solar technology, which are:
1. Mono-crystalline silicon
2. Poly-crystalline silicon
3. Copper indium gallium selenide (CIGS) thin film
4. Tandem thin film
5. Copper indium selenium (CIS) thin film
6. Hybrid heterojunction with intrinsic thin layer (HIT)

Interview session

And currently PETRONAS Dagangan Berhad (PDB) is installing solar PV panels on one of its operational facility with the capacity of approximately 200kilowatt per hour that is equivalent to the power needed to power up to 90 households a year. This can reduce greenhouse emission by approximately 138 tons of carbon dioxide per year. This project is expected to be completed soon. While another development of a Solar IPP located in Gebeng, Kuantan with a capacity of 10.02 megawatt is equivalent to the power needed to power up 4,500 households annually and reducing up to 8,000 tons of carbon dioxide per year. It is expected to be completed by 1st Quarter of 2014.

The PV Project paves the way for Petronas to continue to explore opportunities in green and renewable energy towards the reduction of greenhouse gasses as part of its effort towards sustainable development. As our Minister of Energy, Green Technology and Water, YB Dato’ Sri Peter Chin Fah Kui said, the contribution by Petronas with the largest solar PV installation on the rooftop of Suria KLCC is commendable, as it certainly makes a significant contribution towards achieving the long term target. And he hopes other business entities will also emulate this by installing PV panels in their existing buildings or incorporate them in their new buildings. These are the decisive steps to ensure that our energy future is green, sustainable and diverse and that Malaysia uses energy in the most efficient manner.

So let’s look forward for more development for the green industry in our country, and also the world.
♥

Lastly, present to you my partner of the day - adorable Miss Charis hehe, and also some of our photos on the scene. See y'll around, ciao~ *smiley eyes* muah!

Paranormal Activity 4

I've been a fan of Paranormal Activity since its 1st chap, was attracted by the fact that they said it was a real story and real documentation video footage, they said la~ And I never go research about whether it's true or not. So I kinda like to watch horror movie, but my boyfie less prefer, maybe he was scared but acting calm everytime watching horror movie with me, oops cannot ruin his image blehhh. Hmm right also la, like I always said, watching horror movie is like paying money to scare yourself, sounds so stupid who would do a thing like this? Me!! *hands up* LOL so same with visiting haunted house hahaha. Me watch horror movie is because I love the suspense feel~ Especially when you totally got no idea when the ghost will come out or when the door get slammed by anonymous 'thing' BANG! yeah and I didn't cover my ears so i get shocked and jumped up from the seat #failure hahaha. Okay I ain't coward but just freaked out by the sound effect everytime la duhhh.

The movie begins with the end of Paranormal Activity 2 (2012). Katie is possessed by a demon, kills her sister Kristi,  and runs away with Kristi's son Hunter. The story then jumps ahead five years later and focuses on siblings Alex and Wyatt, Alex's boyfriend Ben, and a frightening little boy across the street names Robbie. Alex and Ben decide to use laptop computers to document the frightening supernatural occurrences that happen when Robbie is around Alex's house. Robbie seems especially interested in Alex's brother Wyatt, and wants what he and Wyatt do to be kept secret from Alex. Alex's parents are too detached to notice the evil emerging around them. (source from http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2109184/)

From my opinion this chap is less horror than previous the 3 chaps, lesser suspense also. Hmm and the end it became more to like a black magic & zombie kinda movie. Is it because now is vampire & zombie trend? But what I expect from Paranormal Activity is those really supernatural things hmm. So didn't really get surprise from the movie, hoping they can do better in Chap 5 hehe. What attracts me most is the girl named Alex inside movie. The 15 years old actress named Kathryn Newton, is totally a gorgeous blonde pretty babe. Careful you'll get strucked by her eyes hahaha.

I attended this premier screening at GSC Mid Valley on Monday night with le sis. We didn't selca there #facepalm. Because we just enter for the movie and gone after finished la. Like a wind woosh~ And I have to mention this is my 1st time attending for premier screening, and me like those usherettes welcoming us with their bright smile hehe ^^ and thanks to Nuffnang staffs for waiting us to distribute the tix and working so late, and of course they're watching the movie with all bloggers together as well hehehe.

OOTD
Premier Screening Tix

So once again thanks to Nuffnang & GSC Mid Valley for offering such a nice experience of premier screening #appreciate. You guys should go watch the movie for yourself. And Sinister is actually quite nice for supernatural murder movie, just a lil bloody hmm. And I'm goin for Silent Hill & Skyfall soon wee~ Hope you all enjoy the movie *grin* That's all for today. Ciao~ muah!!~ ♥

The girl at registration counter asked people whether they are above 18 or not, I wasn't realize why until I explored the goodie bag. Spot something from Durex? hahaha. Because they have this Rap against STD contest, and I kinda visited the Pink Ribbon booth. Just stuffs everyone should be aware of no matter you're male or female.

i Art you Malaysia

Did you know Petronas's festive TV commercials have celebrated our country's unique cultural heritage in a short, easily relatable & meaningful story form for many years? And for this year, Petronas also debuted a short web film with purpose of telling us a story, which about its employees and the challenges they endure as they serve their company and nation. So here i was, in the launch of the Petronas Raya, Merdeka and Malaysia Day Campaign.

Dato Mohammad Medan Abdullah giving speech
(source from Josh Lim)

Said Dato Mohammad Medan Abdullah, Senior General Manager, Group Corporate Affairs Division of Petronas: "This festive season, we want to pay tribute to all who are out there serving our beloved nation - especially our own staff. Despite the challenges they face, they adapt quickly to the environment they are in and take everything in their stride. That's the spirit that should be nurtured, admired, celebrated and emulated.

As human beings, sometimes we do not realise the good thing that we have until it is taken away from us. In this instance, it's only when we live in another country that we realise just how wonderful  our own country is. It's also about self-discovery, of realising what really matters in life, and about what we have and can offer to others."

This short film entitled Strangers was debuted on Petronas YouTube Page on 6th August. The film focuses on its main character Erman, a young Petronas engineer based in Central Asia. His story begins when he is unable to return home to spend Hari Raya with his family, but his true journey begins when his path crosses that of a local boy, Jeyhun.

Not merely about exploration and adventure, the film is also about a journey of self-discovery. Every step of the way brings Erman closer to realising his true potential, reimagining his energy to contribute to the world he lives in, and discovering his inner strength to make a difference to those around him.
A nice twist to the film is the interview with real Petronas' employees stationed overseas. Unscripted and spontaneous, the interviews reveal how being away from home strengthens their love and appreciation of Malaysia.

It made me realising the connection or relationship or feeling occurred between every individual or human being in this world is such wonderful, even him and him were just strangers from the very beginning. And yes we should always contributing to other who needs help as long as we living on this earth. Do not underestimate what you can do, but reimagining your ability to accomplish what you need to or want to do, just like Petronas tagline 'Reimagining Energy'~

Besides the debuting of short film, Petronas has also undertook a series of other activation programmes to inculcate the spirit of patriotism among the younger generation, to bring Malaysians from all walks of life together to celebrate the three occasions. which are:

I Art You Malaysia Exhibition (14 August 2012 - 30 September 2012)
This programme gathered around 240 schoolchildren from both  Peninsular and East Malaysia  illustrating what they love best about our country. You can view their creativity through their artworks of portraying their love for our nation. Do visit this exhibition at GALERI PETRONAS, Level 3, Suria KLCC, Petronas Twin Towers, 50088 Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

In a gotong-royong spirit, they cleaned the river along the Bukit Kala vicinity, refurbished three major bridges in the area, prepared a kenduri for close to 1,500 villagers and contributes food hampers to over 180 families.

In turn, the Orang Asli villagers taught Petronas' staff, Facebook fans and bloggers a thing or two on their culture. This included the demonstration of their traditional cooking method and sumpit blowing.

Eat Your Water

Last Saturday, I went to this Dr. Murad Blogger Event at Alexis Bistro & Wine bar, The Gardens. It is so exclusive that only 10 of the bloggers get invited #love. Million thanks to NN & Deacon Medical for organizing such an awesome event, for letting us get the chance to gain more knowledge about skincare & giving us such nice treats ^^

They are such thoughtful for us, to create such nice & comfortable ambiance to let us have fun through the whole event. Check out our table decoration~ #lovely

Dr. Howard Murad is the founder of Murad Skincare. Do you ever know he is a doctor, a pharmacist, and also a dermatologist? His famous writing is The Water Secret. One of his philosophies is "Eat Your Water", meaning example like, Instead of drinking 8 cups of water per day, try eating more fruits & vegetables. Eating these foods actually makes you stay hydrated for longer time.

Ice Breaking Session #happy
" Eat Your Water " - by Dr. Howard Murad
love their idea with the apple

Try imagine a fresh grape as our body cell, while external harms like pollution/sun rays/dust as a needle poking the grape. So the grape has a lot of holes already right? Then what will happen when you consume 8 cups of water per day? Eventually the water will be leaking out from the holes @@ so here comes water toxic, you body & face will be like swollen and looks fat #OMG. I personally drink 1 liter of water with half lemon every day, enough to flush out the toxic will be good. But still, i will become thinner only after woke up from bed, then get swollen in afternoon & night again #sadcase. So we need addition nutrients from fruits & veges to repair our cell hence can 'hold' the water inside. And Dr. Murad is the first that actually works on internal consumption products for skincare. *thumbs up*

And so, thanks to Ms. Wong Pui Chion for teaching us so much. She is a profession from Deacon Medical (authorized distributor in Malaysia), and being such lovely & nice to us. We asked her quite lots of things haha. You know girls for sure got lotsa questions about skincare right hehe. Oh btw, Ms. Wong said that watermelon can increase our body protection against SPF by 20% #wow, but don eat too many yea because the sugar level inside can cause people get fat @@ And pomegranate is antioxidant & very hydrated for our body #love

Lovely Ms. Wong Pui Chion~
Everyone's so focus on Teacher Wong's lecture
And here's the facial time! What? Washing face at a place like this? Do they have sink? No kidding. We're goin to do our facial cleansing & everything on the dining table. The first time in our life washing face like this LOL.
Our props~
love that mirror, thinking wanna get one at home XD
Face cleansing time~
I didn't put makeup on that day so it became lots easier hehe
Remember to relax & feel the sensation when cleansing & putting skincare
let your skin to be free from fatigue & brightly shine
Hydrated toner hmm nice & moisture
girl inside is Lumi, love her dip dye hair hehe
Mirror mirror on the wall, who's the fairest on 'em all?
I know it's not me @@
What bloggers always do hehe
Povy even ask questions when dining lolx
Our food! Thanks Deacon Medical for the treats ♥
We have these ice lemon tea, salad, sandwiches & tiramisu. It was a really healthy meal, which  means good for skin hehe. I love the avocado inside sandwiches. Tiramisu at Alexis is a must try! Don't get shocked when they served it with chili sauce because it is actually strawberry jam, and i thought why so weird it came with chili sauce @@ The strawberry jam is a lil sour with the sweetness of tiramisu makes it the signature dessert in Aleixs slurpp~

Eating time!!

Group photo of the day, saying "Eat Your Water"
